Are you frustrated by traffic jams, bad roads, overcrowded schools, loss of farmland, and our county becoming a garbage dump for Silicon Valley? These problems result from years of shortsighted decisions by our County Supervisors who were unduly influenced by developers & special interests.
Are you frustrated by traffic jams, bad roads, overcrowded schools, loss of farmland, and our county becoming a garbage dump for Silicon Valley? These problems result from years of shortsighted decisions by our County Supervisors who were unduly influenced by developers & special interests.
Good news: In November 2024, voters took back our county by voting "Yes" on the citizens' Initiative, titled "Empower Voters to Make Land Use Decisions". This Initiative allows us to vote on projects like Strada Verde, the landfill expansion, and housing developments on Fairview, Union & Buena Vista roads.

This Initiative allows us to vote on projects like Strada Verde, the landfill expansion, and housing developments on Fairview, Union & Buena Vista roads.
NOTE: It will take a few years for the benefits of Measure A to be visible, as quite a few housing developments were approved before Measure A was passed in late 2024.

Over 16 years ago, the voters in four California counties (Napa, Sonoma, Ventura and Stanislaus) passed similar initiatives and halted sprawl development. Today, they still have significant agriculture and open space, plus strong economies. The residents of these counties are happier with their quality of life than the residents of other overcrowded counties. We are now following in the footsteps of these four visionary counties.
